FASHION SHOW: Hahm

"Nary Manivong and Alexandria Hilfiger are the design duo behind NAHM. NAHM represents the first and last initials of the designers’ names and also translates to water in Laotian, Nary’s ancestral language. NAHM launched in Fall 2011. The focus of their design collaboration is the shirtdress, with the NAHM collection finding inspiration in men’s shirting details combined with feminine accents, fine fabrics and inventive silhouettes." - via Nahm site.

White cotton frocks adorned blushing young models. I quite enjoyed the point of view from these young designers. The silhouettes were of a innocent "little house on the perry" aesthetic, yet modernized and made sensual by print & transparency. The designers self imposed challenge was for twenty unique takes on the classic shirt dress. My favorite look was a shin-length asymmetric round-hemmed sleeveless dress with broderie trim as an accent. A highlight was the jewelry which was created by Pamela Love. On another note, I'm sure that Alexandria's father's [ the iconic Tommy Hilfiger ] presence in the audience made for an exciting reveal for the budding designer.
