Inspired by the comfyness of my Ohne Titel tights, I discovered another way to reconstruct an over-sized sweater to the horror of my BF. For this one you will need another one of your boyfriend's over-sized sweaters with long arms (or a thrifted sweater), a pair of scissors and a hand needle or sewing machine. I used a serger.
- cut from 1"1/2 inch under the armhole diagonally towards the center front of the neckline. Stop 1/2 an inch from the sweater's neck binding. note: [it's easiest to cut front and back at once; when you are done there should be a visible upside-down "V" shape].
- sew center front (front diagonal that you just cute) to center front and center back (back diagonal that you just cut) to center back in one continuous stitch.
- the images (I think) illustrates it very well if my directions are bad.
Joe was a little hesitant to give up more sweaters this time, but i think he liked the results.
