Lace is evidently a focus at BCBG this season. At today's show there was loads and loads of the fabric and much less color then expected for a BCBG spring collection. The silhouette was feminine, no doubt; very reminiscent of the unmentionables worn by Jane Austin and her set. Many shifts, no drapes. The leather details added a modern touch. Clearly the designers sought to protect their women with leather harnesses & belts, transforming the girls into women who were delicate yet dangerous. The sleek accessories played a very important role. The brand made a nice alternative to the large envelop clutch, a staple for the young social party goers. I assume the sky-high shinguards that the girls were wearing on their feet derived from this idea of "protection" as well. All in all I am positive that the avid BCBG customer will find much to rave over in the coming months.
